The barrel conditioned with hot water as instructions and is now holding 5 gallons of wine with absolutely no leakage!
Wonderful product!
Shall leave the wine in for just one month to avoid over oaking,
Have another batch ready to go in.

Thank you so much for your feedback, Keith we truly appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.
Great to hear the barrel sealed well and is holding wine perfectly. With virgin oak, keeping the wine in for a short first cycle is the right approach. After a few batches, when the oak settles, you can leave the wine in for longer aging.
You can also try our hybrid oak barrel with glass heads. it allows you to clearly observe the aging process, and these barrels have a lower wood-to-liquid ratio, which reduces the oak intensity even when the barrel is new.
