Product Details
A flat-packed B.S. National 6-frame nucleus hive designed for raising nucleus colonies, hive splits, or swarm control, suitable for reliable long-term outdoor use and straightforward assembly.
The nuc hive includes:
- 1 brood box — fits DN1, DN2, DN4, DN5 frames (frames not included)
- 1 Varroa mesh floor with plywood inspection tray (assembled; landing board included, to be screwed on)
- 1 crown board — plywood panel with a solid pine frame (not thermally modified)
- 1 wooden roof with galvanised metal cover and 4 ventilation holes (assembled)
The brood box features angled inner wall tops to reduce the likelihood of frames sticking, so runners are not essential, although metal runners can be fitted if preferred. All components are accurately machined for straightforward self-assembly and are supplied flat-packed for easy storage and transport.
